"As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world but in being able to remake ourselves"
 ~ Mahatma Gandhi ~

In a time when the world was shaken by two world wars, atomic bombs and the Holocaust, one man managed to lead more than 450 million people in what is known as the greatest pacifist revolution in history. Through non-violent means, Gandhi proposed an ethical model in which the ends do not justify the means; teachings that would later inspire millions around the world including leaders such as Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama.

To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, New Acropolis Toronto (along with several New Acropolis centres across the world) would like to honour the memory and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.

How did Mohandas Gandhi, a young man who was shy and battered by failures, become Mahatma Gandhi: one of the greatest spiritual idealists and leaders that the world has ever seen?

What was the source of his knowledge and how did he use this knowledge to transform himself into a warrior of peace? How was he able to integrate the ideals of truth, love and service into his everyday life?

Join us for a lecture about Gandhi's inner transformation and let's discover together how we can all awaken the spiritual idealist within and begin the journey of the real and sustainable change we want to see in the world today!

Please note:
  • Out of respect for those in attendance, doors will close at 1:00 pm.
  • The event is being held on the third floor in the Viola Desmond room.
